Andrew Huberman is a neuroscientist and professor at Stanford University who studies the brain and behavior. Based on his research, here are three tips for starting your day:
Get exposure to natural light: Natural light exposure can help regulate your circadian rhythm, which affects your sleep-wake cycle and overall energy levels. After waking up, get outside and expose yourself to natural light immediately (As Soon As Practical). If you can't go outside, open your curtains or blinds to let natural light into your living space.
Practice breathwork or meditation: Starting your day with breathwork or meditation can help you reduce stress and anxiety, increase focus, and improve your overall mood. You can try deep breathing exercises, mindfulness meditation, or other relaxation techniques to start your day positively.
Engage in physical activity: Regular exercise has been shown to have numerous health benefits, including improving mood, boosting energy levels, and reducing stress. You don't need an intense workout; even light stretching or a short walk can help you wake up and feel more alert. Try to engage in physical activity in the morning, either outdoors or indoors.
